All residents of South Florida need to be prepared for hurricane season: June 1st - November 30th.  Preparing now for an emergency will give you and your family time to react safely and in a well thought-out manner.

If you have a grill, make sure that you have plenty of fuel on hand (propane or charcoal).  Now is the time to make sure that you can cook on your grill.  Let's not forget life's essentials, like having plenty of water and food for each person of your household. A plan of action for you and your family can go a long way toward reducing potential suffering from any type of disaster that could strike.

Take pictures of all your valuables (including furniture) for insurance purposes.  It is recommended that you put the pictures (or disc with the pictures) in a ziploc bag with your insurance policy.  It is a good practice to put all important papers in ziploc bags prior to the storm. Letter sized paper fit nicely in a 2 gallon bag.
